The Tribunal can review decisions made under the Awas’ak Wiyasiwewin law, except for financial decisions. This includes decisions affecting the care, support, and well-being of children and families.
How long do I have to request a review?
You have 30 days from the date of the decision to submit your request to the Tribunal.
Can the Tribunal’s decision be appealed?
The Tribunal’s decision is final, but in some cases, they may direct the Onikanew to reconsider the decision.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a process where a neutral third party helps both sides resolve their dispute in a peaceful way. The Tribunal can appoint a mediator if both parties agree.
Is there a fee to request a review?
There is no fee to request a review. The Tribunal’s services are provided at no cost to those directly affected by decisions under the Awas’ak Wiyasiwewin law.
